It is for Speech Recognition that will automatically type what you speak, and I believe it is from the IBM product family often referred to as "VoiceType". Believed to be a RARE item on the secondary market! The photos show everything that is contained in the package. I had 4 different ViaVoice products at one time (having received some as promotional items), so I never used this one. It has always been stored in my smoke-free, climate-controlled home office.
